A calibration, not a modification

This page exists because it is the first thing a maintenance director asks and it deserves a straight answer, in writing, before anything is loaded onto a truck.

What the EOS map does

  • Optimizes fuel delivery in real time for load, grade, speed, and duty cycle
  • Operates entirely within the OEM's specified boost, fueling, and torque limits
  • Is built and validated per engine platform before it is written to any vehicle
  • Is fully reversible: the factory calibration is archived and can be restored

What the EOS map does not do

  • Delete, disable, defeat, or bypass DPF, SCR, DEF dosing, or EGR
  • Exceed factory boost, fueling, or torque ceilings
  • Alter the engine's certified emissions strategy
  • Require any hardware, wiring, drilling, or mechanical change
  • Touch your speed limiter, governor, or safety settings

Inside factory limits

Every parameter EOS writes sits inside the envelope the manufacturer already certified. The engine never sees a value it was not built and warranted to run. That is the difference between a calibration and a performance tune.

Emissions untouched

DPF, SCR, DEF, and EGR hardware and function are left exactly as they came from the factory. Nothing is deleted and nothing is spoofed. Regen behavior and aftertreatment control stay on the OEM strategy.

Reversible on request

Before a single byte is written, your original calibration is read off the ECU and archived. If you want the truck back to stock, for a dealer visit or any other reason, we restore it. Same 30 minutes.

Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, in plain terms

The federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. §2302) prevents a manufacturer from voiding a warranty simply because aftermarket software or parts are present on the vehicle. To deny a claim, the manufacturer carries the burden of proving that a specific modification caused the specific failure being claimed. Presence alone is not enough.

This matters most when the calibration stays inside factory limits and leaves emissions control untouched, which is exactly how EOS is built. We are not asking you to take that on faith. We will put the technical scope in writing for your maintenance team and your OEM dealer before install.

Common questions

Will this damage the engine?
No parameter EOS writes goes outside the manufacturer's own limits for boost, fueling, or torque. The engine operates in the same certified envelope it did the day it was built. What changes is how efficiently fuel is delivered inside that envelope for your specific duty cycle.
What happens if the dealer asks about it?
Tell them. We provide a written technical scope describing exactly what the calibration changes and what it leaves alone, and we will talk to your dealer or OEM representative directly. If you would rather go into a warranty visit on the factory map, we restore stock and reload afterward at no charge.
Does it affect DEF consumption or regen cycles?
The aftertreatment control strategy is not modified, so regen logic and DEF dosing continue to run the OEM way. Fleets that burn fewer gallons generally see slightly less soot loading, but the control strategy itself is untouched.
Is this an emissions delete?
No, and we do not do deletes. Deletes are illegal under the Clean Air Act and are the reason aftermarket software has a reputation problem. EOS leaves every emissions component installed, functional, and under factory control.
What engines and vehicles can take it?
Any diesel combustion vehicle with a programmable ECU. Validated across waste management and dump trucks, tractor-trailers, transit and school buses, and heavy equipment, including Cummins L9 and X12/ISX12 and X15 platforms and Peterbilt, Mack, and Navistar chassis. A map is built and validated per engine platform before install.
What if we do not see savings?
You start with a pilot on a handful of trucks, measured against your own baseline from your own telematics. If the numbers are not there, you do not roll out. There is no hardware to rip out and nothing to unwind.
